Book Club Session — A Quote
“Ever morning, until you dead in the ground, you gone have to make this decision.” Constantine was so close, I could see the blackness of her gums. “You gone have to ask yourself, Am I gone believe what them fools say about me today? ”
In this quote Constantine tells the narrator about the problem of accepting yourself. The narrator was a girl that worried about other people and other people’s opinions because she was different from them. She behaved differently and thought in a different way, she did not even have someone who could understand her, so sometimes she was wondering if something was wrong with her.
I think it is all connected with your self-assessment. It is very significant that a person does not depend on someone’s opinion. It affects the whole life in general. It is important that a person likes his life, his surroundings, actions, and so on. Then he will not notice someone’s sidelong glances, unsolicited opinions. A person will be free, he will not care about those “fools” who talk about him.
